Mr. Ahsan Abbas, Senior Research Fellow at CoE-CPEC was being invited by the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Islamabad to enlighten the students, faculty and researcher about CPEC and Role of Academia.
Mr. Ahsan Abbas talked about the CPEC, CPEC portfolio and its importance for the country. The unemployment rate shows an increasing trend from 5.46% in 2008-09 to 6.24% in 2012-13 and then experiencing a decreasing trend due to inception of CPEC.
He also discussed the role of educational institutions in creating the required skills and emphasized on the industry and academia collaboration for building human capital. Specialized courses are also needed to be the part of curriculum to meet the emerging demand of particular skills.
